It reads 'Ann- I heard you were after; the history of the school library. Here's; a few bits and pieces. In 1953 Cora; Adcock & other community minded; mothers opened a small childrens; library in the Baby Health Centre in; Gladstone Street. With the co-operation; of this small public library + the help; of such people as Mrs Ritchie (Kindie; teacher) donating educational; books, the fledging Newport School; Library began in 1953/54. By 1963 the library was housed in the old; weatherboard block (recently renovated -; now rooms 5-8). On November 1962; count of books showed 3960. Mothers; gave time to [??] and repair books &; there were many donations such as the; National Geographic from Pittwater; Rotary.
