It was a pre-fabricated hut erected in 1961, having previously been sited at Riverwood, formally known as Hearne Bay. The Manly Engineer’s Report 19 April 1963 refers to the hall as a possible home for the 4th Manly Scout troop, who however went elsewhere. The land was part of a dairy run by the Brimbecom family south of Beach Street. The owners in around 1952-53 opted to grant under deed the central area 462 feet x 147 feet for a park in which the hall was located, and one block 50 feet x 132 feet to give access to the park from Beach Street.
