AuthorJohn MorcombeDateNovember 2018DescriptionAfter World War I more than 4000 weapons from the war were claimed as war trophies and brought back to Australia. These were then distributed among Australian cities and towns by each state’s trophy committee.
Not everyone was happy with displaying these war trophies as for many they served as reminders of the horrors of the war and served as monuments to man’s savagery.
Arthur Small, requested a trophy gun for Clareville Beach and there were also requests for trophy guns at Mona Vale and Newport.
