Record number63702Date10 July 1974DescriptionThe Terrey Hills Community Library was established as the Terrey Hills Boys and Girls Library and Craft Centre in October 1957. It was the brainchild of Mrs Hilarie Lindsay who wanted to bring literature to the children of Terrey Hills. She was inspired by Mrs Mary Matheson who established the Children's Library and Craft movement, and with her sister Janet and some enthusiastic locals opened the first centre in a small shop in Booralie Road in 1957.
