Record number63698Date1930sDescriptionThe Waldon boys were champion woodcutters competing successfully in woodchopping competitions at the Royal Easter Show in the 1930s. Caption on the back of photo reads: "The last log cut at Terrey's Forest by the Waldon Bros. the toughest, never to be forgotten". The Waldon Family were some of the earliest settlers of Terrey Hills. Edgar Waldon (their father) and his sons ran a large sawmill on part of their land at Terrey Hills on the northern side of Mona Vale Road just east of Forest Way. The sawmill converted timber, mainly blackbutt trees, into small logs for baker's ovens all over the Northern Beaches. SourceunknownKeywordsEdgar Waldon
