Collection SummaryIn 1898 Jonathan Ireland, a Sydney Confectioner, bought a seaside cottage in McCarrs Creek Road, Church Point, which he named "Rostrevor". Jonathan Ireland and his wife Elizabeth (Nee Simpson), and their eight children, James McConnell, Rachel, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Samuel, Eva, Florence, and Violet had a lifelong association with Rostrevor. The property remained in the family until 1997 when it was sold by Terry Carter, grandson of Jonathan Ireland.
