It was designed by Architect Eric Andrew, of 79 Pitt Street, Sydney. The South Steyne Auditorium was located immediately behind the South Steyne Surf Pavilion and included a band stand, dressing rooms and conveniences for artists, storage space, a residential flat for the manager of the South Steyne Surf Pavilion and public conveniences
