Visible in the panorama from the left is Shelly Beach, background, the 1907 Manly Life Saving Club, Montagu House on the hillside in Ashburner Street, which was the home of the Manly Grammar School for Girls up until 1942, and St Patrick's College on Eastern Hill. Historic residences, The Plaza, 19 to 20 South Steyne, 21 South Steyne, and Willyama at 22 South Steyne are also visible to the right, with The Palais, a theatre formerly known as Palais de Danse, Cremorne Gardens, The Follies and The Big Wheel Grounds, visible between 22 and 30 South Steyne. The Palais was demolished in the first week of May, 1926, as a result of the lease expiring
