In 1920 much of the headland, some 72 hectares, was a coastal and foreshore reserve named Griffith Park. Pittwater Road middle of image showing intersection with Ocean Grove. You can see Beach Road and Cliff Road as tracks running parallel to Pittwater Road. The beach at Collaroy Basin is known as Fishermans Beach, and you can see all the fishermans huts along the southern end of the basin. The hall in the middle of the paddock on Pittwater Road is the Salvation Army Hall built in 1912.
