William Allen lived at 3 Griffiths Street Manly. William was 28 years and 11 months and a Quarry Man by trade.

William enlisted on the 30th December 1915 and embarked from Melbourne on the Wandella on 6 June 1916 disembarking in Plymouth on 26th July 1916. He was wounded in action on the 19 July 1917 in the right shoulder and chest.

William returned to Australia on the H.M.A.T. Borda on 25 November 1917 and was discharged due to medical unfitness on 10 January 1918.
