John Arnold was 42 years and 7 months at enlistment on the 1st November 1916. He was born in Woodville New South Wales and was a Draper by trade. John was married to Bessie Mary Louisa and they lived at 33a Pittwater Road Manly. John embarked from Melbourne on the Marathon on 10 May 1917. He served in France and England as a Driver and Gunner. He was discharged on the 20 August 1919.
