Arthur Samuel Birt was 18 years and 6 months at enlistment on 5th February 1918. He was a pastrycook’s assistant by trade. Arthur’s parents Samuel and Mary Elizabeth lived at 67 Whistler Street, Manly.

Arthur embarked at Sydney on the Gaika on 30th July 1918. He returned to Australia on 22nd January 1920 and was discharged on 4th April 1920.
