Mr Davie was born at Kilmarnock, Scotland. He was a clerk prior to enlistment. His wife, Mrs Violet Davie, lived at 46 Whistler Street, Manly. He saw two periods of military service. He enlisted on 11 August 1914, and served with the Naval and Expeditionary Force to New Guinea until March 1915, when he was discharged due to malaria. He re-enlisted on 29 June 1916, and was killed in action in France on 9 April 1917.
