Harold Evans was born at Maida Vale, London in 1891. He was living at 13 Arthur Street, Manly at time of enlistment, and his wife Elsa was his next of kin. He was a valet and hospital attendant. He embarked on the Mooltanon 15 May 1915. He contracted tonsillitis in January 1916.

He returned to Australia as an orderly with a transport home of insane soldiers on the Demosthenes on 19 March 1916. He was discharged on 31 July 1916. In 1923 he was at Cootamundra; he died on 19 October 1955.
