Frederick Floyer was born at Gulgong in 1889, and was a bootmaker to trade. His mother lived at Rampart, Sydney Road, Manly. He enlisted on 18 October 1915 and joined the Army Service Corps as a Driver.

He embarked from Australia on 18 March 1916. He was hospitalised twice with VD.

He returned to Australia on the Orita on 23 June 1919.He died at Manly on 28 June 1952.
