Kenneth Foley was born at Gulgong, NSW, circa 1894. He went to business college, and became an accountant. He enlisted on 14 September 1915, giving as next of kin his father Edward, who lived at Collingwood Street, Manly; his mother lived at Gilgandra.

He embarked on 11 March 1916. He served with the 20th Battalion, then was attached to the Australian Army Pay Corps. In September 1917 he was promoted to Corporal.

He married Dorothy, from Anerley, Surrey, in 1918. His eyesight was judged defective, and he returned to Australia on 12 March 1918 on the Dunvegan Castlefor discharge.

He died at Hamilton on 19 June 1960.
