Hector Goldsbrough was born in 1893 at Woollahra, and was a farm-worker prior to enlisting.

He was a bugler. He attended Lewis gun training and served with the 56th Battalion in France.

He was wounded in the chest at Pozieres on 2 April 1917 and died two days later at the 3rd Casualty Clearing Station.
