Reg Jones was born at Ultimo in 1896. He was a carter. His mother Annie lived at Freshwater. He enlisted on 4 August 1915, and served as a Driver with the 1st Field Company Engineers.

He embarked on the Runic on 20 January 1916. He served in the Middle East and France, and returned to Australia on the Armagh on 5 January 1919.

He died on 27 April 1960.
