Frederick Les Luker was born at Paddington in 1884. He was a motor cycle mechanic with his father, Alfred Luker, who lived at Whistler Street, Manly. He enlisted on 20 October 1916 and assigned to the 1st Pioneer Battalion.

He embarked on the Anchises on 24 January 1917. He was transferred to the 1st Field Artillery Brigade on 6 February 1918 as a Gunner. He was hospitalised with venereal disease for several weeks in 1919 before returning to Australia on the Bakara.

He died on 7 February 1958.
