Angus McPherson was born at Manly on 16 March 1886. He and Olive had four children: Angus, Olive, Mary and Ruby.

He enlisted on 22 April 1918, aged 32, and departed Sydney on 19 June. He contracted influenza and died on leave at Sutton Veny Military Hospital, England. He was buried in St John’s Churchyard, Sutton Veny.

He is commemorated on a headstone in Manly Cemetery, plot U.069.
