Percy Morrison was born at Bayview in 1893 and was a farm labourer. He enlisted in the Light Horse on 22 December 1914, but was discharged from service on 4 January 1915 for being overweight (15 stone).

He re-enlisted on 6 January 1915 giving as next of kin his mother at 39 Smith Street, Manly.

He embarked on 9 August 1915 and served with the 20th Battalion at Gallipoli. He was transferred to the 63rd Battalion. He was hospitalised with trench foot in November 1916 and with VD in April 1917. He was promoted to Corporal on 7 May 1917 and Sergeant in 1918. He was wounded in action on 19 July 1918 but remained at his post. He later fractured his kneecap.

He returned to Australia on the Dunluce Castle.
