Allen Rawnsley was born near Hay, NSW in 1895 and was a chemist. He enlisted on 6 May 1917, giving his father Joseph, at 1 Raglan Street, Manly, as next of kin.

He embarked on 16 July 1917 and served as a Staff Sergeant Dispenser with the 7th Field Ambulance. He was hospitalised on several occasions with unspecified ailments. He returned to Australia on the City of Exeter on 15 July 1919.

After the war he had a chemist’s shop on the Corso. He died in 1950.
