D’Arcy Bagot Stack was born at Capricorn, Queensland in 1890 and was a clerk. He enlisted on 16 April 1915, giving his mother at Fairlight Crescent as next of kin.

He served with the 5th Field Ambulance at Mudros. He was hospitalized with frostbite in December 1915. He was promoted to Corporal on 28 May 1916. On 16 March 1917 he was wounded in action, in the hand. He was promoted to Lance-Sergeant on 10 June 1918. He returned to Australia on the City of Poonahon 28 March 1919. He died on 15 March 1937.
