Arthur Taylor was born at Tamworth, NSW in 1892 and was an ironmonger. He enlisted on 11 May 1915 and gave as next of kin his mother living at Crescent Street, Manly.

He embarked on 16 June 1915, and served with the 3rd Battalion. He was badly wounded in the back and foot by a bomb blast at Lone Pine. He was initially treated in hospital in Alexandria, before being returned to Australia on the Kanowna on 20 October 1915. He was discharged from service in April 1916.

He lived latterly in Queensland, and died on 18 March 1982.
